Biography Anna Blom
VISUAL ARTIST
Monumental, imaginative and colorful works full of symbolism and narrative character. Ranging from small collages of found material and mixed media works to custom XXL Art Corsets as temporary art for public spaces
Land of Enchantment
There once was a little girl who regularly climbed onto her parents' piano to view Picasso's reproduction, Acrobat Family with Monkey, up close. She had been fascinated by the performance since her cradle. Now, having come closer, she identified herself with the child in the picture. But it didn't stop there. The work inspired her. This world, in which she saw herself, was a world that she could also create herself.

One of the first creations was the sun. Created by mixing instant pudding with eggs on the dark carpet of the living room. Many experiments followed and creating her world in images became a necessity of life.

That girl is me. And my work, that is my reality.
Love made me do it
In the eighties I started studying theater design at the academy in Amsterdam. Partly due to this study, the layering in my work has arisen, in addition to a preference for spatial work and short-lived art projects.
Years later, this led to the creation of my XXL Art Corsets.

Travel
From an early age, traveling has had a great attraction for me, in addition to the love of creating. And through many travels worldwide and encounters with other cultures, my interest in symbolism and mythologies has grown and nourished. Partly because of this, my own visual language full of universal symbolism was created.
My travels have taken me to Australia, Easter Island, South-East Asia, Russia, China and of course many countries in Europe. I have not only traveled in many countries, but also painted and realized art projects.
